    SOME Child theme files not overwritten

    I have set up a child theme per the CP 4+ documents. I opened single.php and added some basic code to check to make sure I was editing the right file. Uploaded, no dice. I can edit/modify OTHER files and get results on my child theme, but some, such as single.php doesn't seem to work the way regular child themes do. Am I missing something?
