Using email to log in

Hello,

Classipress uses the user name for users to sign in evey time. Sometimes, when users sign up, they use a user name with more than one word, like "john smith" without realising that is the one that they will have to use everytime they want to log in.

Personally I think that to sign in is better to use just one word, to avoid mistakes and so on. So the question is:

would it be possible to change the log in system, so the email is used instead of the user name?

I guess this is quite complicated and of course coding would be needed, so maybe this is more like a phylosophic question, but i would like to have your comments
