Paying for Paypal cancellation fees
Hi,
I am in a quandary with paypal settings....
I followed hirebee instructions with regards to PayPal settings and tested a project transaction with actual PayPal payments. I tested with project owner accepting the freelancer and making the necessary transfer to paypal escrow. Immediately after seeing that it was a success, I went on to have the project owner cancel the project to get a refund... all seemed good with project being cancelled and freelancer notified, and project owner getting full 100% refund. BUT, in no event, was the website owner being involved in this whole cancellation process (out of website owner's hands), and as website owner, I was charged the Paypal reversal fees of the whatever % + fixed charges.
So my question is, what can I as website owner, protect myself from project creators/freelancers cancelling and causing all these refund charges which I the website owner has to pick up after?? Any alternative PayPal settings I should switch to so that I can choose whether project owner or freelancer absorb the paypal charges, or if we could choose manually after arbitration that both project owner and freelancer would bear 50/50 charges?? Any alternative options at all for us at website owners? Any workaround?? Need to protect website owner from getting bankrupt by these cancellations
Thanks
