    How to change date format?

    Hi!

    The date / time listed for my postings is like so: 15/Jul/2013

    In addition, the date / time in email alerts is listed like so: 2013-07-16

    Both of these formats are confusing for US users, who are used to seeing a format of month/day/year: 7/17/2013

    I know we are goofy like that. But in any case, I'd like to be able to change these, but I don't see a place to alter the format. Changing the formatting in Wordpress doesn't change it on the postings or alerts, so I assume it is being pulled elsewhere?
