Child Theme - Remove apptheme branding!

I'm new to this wordpress child theme stuff. I purchase Vantage theme and a simple thing as to customize the footer credits cannot be modified on wp-admin or in a simple way. That should be part of the Vantage theme. So, I purchased an incomplete theme and the only way to modify is like making my own child theme. A bit stupid as I paid for a custom theme that should have that capability built in. Hello! I paid for it!

Or at least make SPECIFIC and COMPLETE tutorials to perform common tasks.

A couple of things I would like to acomplish:

- Remove all apptheme banners
- Remove all references to apptheme

Is it too much to ask?

That SHOULD be a checkbox on wp-admin!

Or again, COMPLETE tutorials on how to do it! Not some vague references to how to create child themes...
