Edit an expired Event?

Hi there, I just received a notification that an event I created has expired - when the user clicks on the event they go to "The page or listing you are trying to reach no longer exists or has expired" which is fine but maybe this page should have a link for the user to the event in the dashboard?

Also I am confused on the following - when the user does go to their dashboard and click on the expired event they cannot edit it? They just get taken to the same page again that has this message "The page or listing you are trying to reach no longer exists or has expired" maybe I am doing something wrong here in terms of setup but shouldnt a user be able to edit an event they created and repost it?
