Having trouble modifying the Logo in the Header for Mobile Phones

Using this "responsive theme".....everything seems to work out EXCEPT THE HEADER.
So, thus far..to set up my header (header image of 400x70 as recommended).....
....I've uploaded my "header image" and also uploaded a "background image" for it.
Okay, Pretty simple BUT.....

All is fine when viewing on a desktop and good when viewing on my iPad, however, not so well when viewing on my iPhone.

I purchased from the Marketplace a child theme for Vantage that was supposed to solve the problem, but it is a new submission, FULL of problems and solves the header problem but skews everything else on the site.

So, I'm still looking for a solution and have noticed that some other Vantage users have obviously solved the problem I'm having.

Can someone point me in the right direction and help correct my site appearance on phones?
