menus and categories

Whats the most amount of categories allowed in the menus admin screen? Im trying to add more but when i save the menu they disappear.

I have a huge list of sub categories.

I created the categories first in the listings section and also the events section. Then in the admin i added those to the menu screen and slid them under the respective categories as sub menus.


Also how do i create a dedicated page that opens up to the list of categories when the user clicks the category they want?

Also I dont like the way the drop down (when hovering over the category) falls off the page. How do I add more columns to the category drop downs?
