Vantage Popular Categories Widget Count

Hi,

We are seeing that the Popular Categories widget in the sidebar is displaying incorrect count of listings. It is consistently off by one, showing that there are 3 listings in a category when there are only 2, or 1 listing in a category when there are zero. Hoping there might be a setting we can change to resolve this? BTW, what makes a category "Popular" anyway?

Also, when a category is selected from the Popluar Categories widget, it takes the user to the bottom of the category page, not the top. Would appreciate some insight on how/where to adjust that issue.
