Vantage renew already active listing and email notifications

I have a question about users being able to renew their listing and email notifications in the Vantage Theme. Once their listing expires will it be their personal profile for them to be able to renew? Also when a listing is about to expire is there a certain amount of days that will trigger this email to remind them? Or does it just send the email on the last day? I would prefer to have a email sent out a few days before a listing expires, and if the theme doesn't do this already would someone know how to set it up to do so? Thanks
