Header Search Bar

The default layout has the search bar in the header with two blocks - Find & Near - followed by a magnifier icon to the right.
I would like to use just a single search field - Find - without the the second block, but for the single block to be the width of the default two.
I noted the previous post - https://forums.appthemes.com/help-us...ch-bar-104385/ - which has a CSS entry to hide the right hand block, but this still leaves the icon far to the right of the visible left hand block - plus I would prefer the full width search box with just one field.
Is there a way to achieve this?
