    search textbox changes size when in focus

    When I click the search textbox at the top of the page (e.g. on the homepage of the demo site), the height and width of the box suddenly changes.

    Screenshots showing both states are attached (single image). I took those screenshots on the homepage of the demo site today using Firefox 25. I see similar behavior in Chrome 30, although only the height appears to change (as opposed to also the width).

    Is this by design? I don't understand its purpose.

    Will you eliminate the behavior in a future version of the theme? Will you provide a workaround in the meantime?
