10 Newbie Pre-Sales Questions

I am setting up a new business directory website and evaluating some WordPress solutions to fit my requirements.
I have a few questions, would you guys mind helping me out?

1. Is Facebook and Twitter authentication supported? Users of my site will need the ability to search and read reviews without first authenticating, but need to login via Facebook or Twitter to create a new review.
2. I will be focusing on a single business category, is this supported this so the user doesn't have to specify say Hotels or Restaurants etc? I only want the user to specify the search location.
3. Is there a “Just Use My Current Location” feature?
4. Can I order search results by rating or distance from search location? And make this user configurable.
5. Can you share reviews on a Facebook timeline, Twitter feed or as a FourSquare check-in?
6. Is there an admin accessible user profile so I can see how many users, when last logged in, how many reviews created etc.?
7. Can I export user profiles via CSV to something like MailChimp for email marketing?
8. Can I integrate with Google places and FourSquare so I can include reviews from other sources?
9. Instead of importing business directory lists in CSV, do you support integration with Factual? (www.factual.com)
10. In terms of the responsive UI, how granular is the configuration? Can I determine how much data is rendered on mobile device and what is not?

In answer to your questions:

1. Vantage does not include social networking login functionality by default, however we do suggest the Social Connect plugin on our recommended plugins page.

2. The default theme includes the additional search field on the main index, so it would require some customization on your part if you were looking to remove the search for field. There is no setting within the Vantage admin dashboard which will remove it automatically.

3. Not at this time, no.

4. As seen on the Vantage demo site, you can filter listings using the dropdown option near the top right-hand side of the "Business Listings" section, and this includes "Highest Ratings" and "Most Ratings" options. The "Refine Search" functionality appears on the location search sidebar as seen here, and there you can adjust the distance for a radius search. These are not specific to users.

5. There is no option to share a review, but like the social login functionality, we suggest the ShareThis plugin also listed on the recommended plugins page.

6. You as the admin can access the Vantage admin dashboard, and can view reviews under "Comments", users under "Users". This doesn't show when they last logged in, however you could potentially find a plugin for such a function.

7. WordPress has a built in import/export tool, however this does not specifically include users, so again this could also be something you could find in the form of a plugin.

8. This would require customization of the default theme at this time.

9. The .csv importer is built into the theme, anything else would require customization

10. Vantage changes layout for optimal viewing on any device right down to mobiles, there are no additional settings for the responsive feature. Thanks.

I am highly interested in point 3, too. Is there a plan to integrate it to Vantage?

I want to use the directory also for an area where street names are rare. Is there any chance to choose lat and long via map, so the place of business is possible to display without street and numbers?

And I would add another question. Is it possible to hide specific standard fields for some categories? I saw "custom forms" in the admin area, but I guess they just add some extra fields, and I have to customize?

There are no specific plans to integrate a current feature option into Vantage, not to say it would never happen, but at this stage there is no indication of whether or not our team have discussed implementing this in a future release.

Vantage has a draggable pin in the Google map used for placing listings which does help somewhat in these instances.. By selecting the general area on the map, you can click on the marker and move it elsewhere. You can try it out on the Vantage demo.

There is no option to hide fields in categories as you have described. The custom forms functionality allows you to add fields to the listing form, so yes it would require customization on your part if you wanted to hide fields. Thanks.
