Hi

In my search for tools, i landed at appthemes.

i want to create a portal where entrepreneurs and subcontractors can meet.
the idea is that the subcontractors will be creating an ad/profile, where they list their details, so that the entrepreneurs can contact them

is classipress or jobroller editable enough to host such a concept?

I think JobRoller is a better suited for this project. It offers two types of accounts: job listers and job seekers so i think this is what you are looking for. You can check the back end and front end demos.
