Yes. ClassiPress uses wordpress categories so you can create as many sub-categories as you like.

What about three levels? I see the menu bar has category at level 1, then subcategory at level 2. Is there a level 3 like a dropdown or something?

    Re: Categorization

Right now classipress handles 2 levels with ease. The 3rd level is nested below the 2nd level and works but in the next release due out in a few weeks, there will be dropdown flyout menus which will make things much nicer looking.

If I buy in now, will the next version be a free upgrade?

    Re: Categorization

Why don't we have an index page which shows all the categories?

And, a sidebar that opens up and show all the subcategories of a category when you are in that category?

You can even highlight the current category or subcategory the user is currently at in the sidebar.

    Re: Categorization

The new version 2.9 shows all the categories now via dropdown menus. The method you are describing could be done but it's not the way ClassiPress is currently designed.

    Re: Categorization

Can a subcategory be set to disallow ads?

    Real Estate
    - Rent
    -- Location A
    -- Location B
    - Buy
    -- Location A
    -- Location B

In this example, I do not want ads to be posted for "Rent" and "Buy" categories. They are used as a label. I want ads only in the locations categories.

Is ClassiPress able to support this configuration?

    Re: Categorization

It's not a classipress configuration....it's a wordpress one and I don't believe you can block categories. Might want to check online.
