    Category Hierarchy...

Before I purchase this theme, I would like to make sure it can do the following:

My website will consist of main categories (All 50 States) and each of those states will have several sub categories consisting of different construction sub-contractor trades (IE, Concrete, Roofing, Masonry, etc..).

Each sub-category will list all of the companies that match that state and sub category.

So, the pages will be organized like this:

    >State
    _____>Sub Category
    _________>Company Listing

What I have found with other themes, and that I do NOT want, is that clicking on the main category (state) simply takes you to a page with all of the company listings for that state, instead of first directing you to the available sub-categories.

    Thanks!

I notice that you have this thread marked for ClassiPress but if you are listing businesses, would you not want our business directory theme, Vantage? Either way, clicking a top level category (in your example, "State") reveals a page with listings in that top level category and NOT a page that lists sub-categories. You can see that on our demos:

ClassiPress, top level category "auto" - http://demos.appthemes.com/classipress/ad-category/auto
Vantage, top level category "American" - http://demos.appthemes.com/vantage/l...egory/american

It's possible that you could customize this but I cannot say how much work it will require.

You might also want to check out the Statify child theme made by one of our community members. This is a ClassiPress child theme and does not work with any of our other themes. You see the child theme here: http://themebound.com/shop/statify-c...ss-child-theme

We should have multi-region capability coming to our themes soon.

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, the themes will be of no use to me without the ability to go from category to sub-category. Keep us updated on when that feature is added!

    Also,

How can I get access to view this thread?

    http://forums.appthemes.com/how-much...-region-30246/

It seems to have a lot of relevant information to my question, and it just seems nonsensical to not allow me to view it if it will help me with my problem. Do I really need to purchase something before I know if there's a solution to my problem? That doesn't seem right...

Unfortunately, we do not grant access to the support forums to non-customers. Support is one of the perks that our customers pay for. To grant access to a non-customer would be a bit disconcerting for our existing customers.

However, I would be happy to summarize the thread for you. I believe you can read the first comment in the thread. All follow up comments simply echo the original request. The last two posts contain a third party solution by the company I linked to in my first post, ThemeBound. The link is to their product Dynamic Multi-Level Fields ( http://themebound.com/dynamic-multi-...a-how-to-guide ) & ( http://themebound.com/shop/dynamic-m...or-classipress ).

As far as I know, there are no other third party companies producing multi-region plugins for our themes.

Thanks for your understanding about forum access.

    Cheers.
