Classipress as a housing platform?

Hello,

We are a group of entrepreneurs looking for a website solution and we were really impress by ClassiPress. We are seriously looking into purchasing the theme but have a couple of questions:

1. Have you ever seen ClassiPress used as platform for temporary homes/apartments? Is there a way to have custom field that allows people to set the apartment's availability using a calendar?

2. Can users later search and refine results by dates availability?

3. Can users search or refine ads based on price?

1. I have seen a number of real estate based sites running ClassiPress, but none that I can recall using a calendar system as you describe. This would certainly involve some customization of the theme.

2. As above, customization would be required to run such a feature.

3. Not at this time, no.

AppThemes itself doesn't offer customization services, however we do have a Certified Partners Page where you can find developers for hire. If you outline your requirements they should be able to give you an idea of price. Thanks.

Can you shed some light about the difference in paypal integration between the personal and business versions of Classipress?

Can I upgrade my version from home to business after a purchase?

And also, can you please elaborate on the level of support that is included as part of the purchase?

Personal Edition does not include any of these features:
Transaction Logging (This allows you to view all PayPal transactions conveniently from within your ClassiPress admin dashboard as seen here on the ClassiPress Admin demo)
PayPal IPN (PayPal's message service that sends a notification when a transaction is affected. You can read more on this here.)
Sales & New Ads Chart Widget (This is the "Stats - Last 30 Days" Graph you see here on the right-hand side of the dashboard on the ClassiPress Admin demo.)

Yes, you can easily upgrade your licence type at another time if you wish, via your AppThemes customer dashboard. You will only need to pay the difference between licence types.

All support is carried out via these forums, regardless of your licence type. We have an AppThemes support team, and also the community itself is very active, so often you'll find other customers may answer your threads as well. Support is not instantaneous, but we do endeavour to answer all questions within 48 hours, however it is often much sooner than this. We do not officially support customizations or third party plugins, so these kinds of questions would be subject to community based support.

A few more questions:
(1) I noticed in the demo that there are some ads that don't show the ad's publisher and some do show it (usually a cool looking guy name David) and was wondering why the difference? Can the publisher decide whether or not his profile will shop up as part of the ad?

(2) I am assuming the profile of users if flexible and customizable and I can add/drop fields from the profile that will be displayed when looking at one's profile. Is that really the case?

(3) Do you have any other certified partners that you recommend? I haven't heard from any of the ones you publish in your certified partners page and I just need to talk to someone who can explain if my crucial customizations are feasible.

(4) I saw in one of your other posts that you're a kiwi. Just came back from 2 months in NZ - you have an AWESOME country!

1) That cool looking guy David is the owner/lead developer of AppThemes ;) He has uploaded a pic and added info to his profile, but others may not have. So yes, this is entirely optional in terms of whether or not a customer wants to do this.

2) There are standard fields which can be completed in the customer profile screen (basic WordPress profile fields), but if you're talking about adding custom fields, no this is not a feature of ClassiPress. I believe some customers have used plugins such as register plus redux to add extra fields they are seeking for when the user initially signs up, but the plugin itself is not "officially" supported.

3) The businesses on the Certified Partners page are it in terms of our recommendations. We do have a WordPress Theme Services section of the forums where others have offered services or some seek services, but this is open to everyone including non-customers so you should be aware of this as well.

4) Yes, it really is pretty awesome ;)

It has been pointed out to me that perhaps I misinterpereted your original question about the availabilty dates of temp housing/apartments, so to clarify further.. There isn't a calendar built in, but you can create custom fields for Start Date and End Dates and simply make them mandatory fields so at least all of your ads will display this information. It will help somewhat in terms of checking availability.

Thank you Pepsi but I am afraid I am going to I am going to need something more robust than that. I need users to be able to search based on date in an easy and intuitive way. And also, a property may have more than just one period of availability and I am afraid the static start to end field don't allow that flexibility.
