Difference between ad categories and catergories with widgets

What exactly is the difference between ad categories and categories with widgets and should they follow the order of category building ?

So do I have to first put up the categories and subcategories and then drag the ad categorymenu or category box to the sidebar?

Sorry I'm not exactly sure what you mean? The categories that appear on the homepage or categories dropdown are the same ones that appear in the widgets.

    RE:

There are a number of widgets available on the widget pages, like ad sponsors, archive, ad searchbox etc. which you can drag to the sidebars.

I am referring to 'adcategories' and 'categories'. I wonder what the difference between those two are.
And is it possible to create a directory structure with them just like the directory searchbox has.?
Apparently the searchbox can hold more category levels than the menu category on top of page can have which can only show one subcategory. If I have a sub-sub category it also shows under the main category.

And another question is if they can be dragged to the main menu bar on top of page or only to the various sidebars?

As what have pepsi stated the "ad categories and "categories" are just the same. The "categories" on the header menu is provided for ease in navigating the site so you won't have toggle back and forth with navigation just to find a certain category.

Though not a default feature of Classipress, creating a directory structure as what you have intend to do is possible through custom coding. Since Classipress has no encrypted files you can do whatever you want to do with it.
