    Does Classipress Work?

Having been ripped by another site selling what appears to be an adapted version of Classipress I am now very nervous about spending any more money to buy this so called 'genuine' version.

Can someone answer a few questions which are concerning me before I buy.

    1. Can users of the site place adverts without having to log in to wordpress?

    2. If I set things so that I do require a log in, does that mean users log in and see the typical Wordpress admin area and can therefore happily post any old thing at will?
I was able to do this on one of the showcase sites and if it is not possible to stop it seems to me that it renders the whole theme unusable.

    3. If adverts are setup to automatically appear, will they show prior to payment being received or not?
If they do, as with the other copy of the theme I bought, it seems again that it renders the theme unusable.

I am sure there are many other questions but the above are all show stoppers so I am really hoping that someone can tell me that my concerns are unfounded.

You should be able to find answers to all these questions throughout the forum but what I have found is.

    1. You can choose whether or not you want users to register/login prior to submitting ads.
    2. When users sign in they can add a classified (if you require it) or have access to their profile page and dashboard which allows them to edit their ad (although, currently there isn't many options to edit.)
    3. You can choose whether or not to let user's ads go live or be saved as a draft for your approval.

That's all I have for you.

And in answer to the other question - NO, when a member logs in they only have access to a front end dashboard page and their profile.

    Re: Does Classipress Work?

I am currently working on a client's classipress and as soon as I finish I'll buy the developer's license in order to launch a few personal classifieds.

    Classipress it does work.

1- Answer: On the theme options, you can allow the user to place ads without registration.

And in answer to the other question - NO, when a member logs in they only have access to a front end dashboard page and their profile.
    Actually you got that wrong.

2 - Answer: YES, the user has the ability to access the admin. That is the default for Wordpress contributors- Even though Classipress redirects the user to his dashboard, If he wants, he just need to change the URL for www. sitename/wp-admin/. Again, that is not a Classipress problem but just the way WP sets permissions to its users. In order for you to block that, you need to install this plugin and set permissions you want for the user: http://www.im-web-gefunden.de/wordpress ... dashboard/" *Many membership sites suffers with this and that is why such plugins were created.

3 - If you have selected the ads to be paid, then all ads will be in draft mode. Classipress does not have automatically published ads in payment selected mode. You can see this message here: http://wpclassipress.com/wp-content/upl ... e-page.gif"

    Forgot to mention one thing.

You have to set the users as contributors. It seems they set as "authors" or "admins" and that is why you were able to place more ads. As a contributor, they will be able to access the admin (if you don't use the plugin to block) but any post they create will be always as draft and waiting for the admin approval.

Ah! Sorry, I thought the OP meant via WP admin, not from the users dashboard etc.

Sorry but problem is somwhere else it doesn't matter about permission users I think
