I'm working with a client to develop a career board site and I came across your site. I have recommended your site as well as two others for his review. He has some specific questions that I was hoping you could tell me if your system can handle the requests.

It’s critical to be able to search job postings from other companies websites (i.e Wal-Mart's job site) using the job search inputs from the job-search page and return either a) direct links to those jobs on the companies websites, or b) identify that a particular company has jobs matching their search criteria and direct them the home page (might be needed to avoid deep link legal issues) .

-Want to allow employers to either a) post jobs directly on the website, or b) link their job postings on their individual websites to mine

-Can the website facilitate communications between employer employee anonymously until the employee wants to make direct personal contact?

-Easy to send out notes to employees automatically? Paid membership is about to expire, questions from employers, send other misc. notes out to all employees automatically?


Any direction or response you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ryan,

Yes you can definitely allow job posting from employers directly into your JobRoller installation. Also built into the theme is integration with Indeed.com, and an optional plugin for a Simplyhired feed also available (you can read more about this here).

The "Apply Online" link allows the job seeker to contact the employer and apply for the job, but once the communication has started, the employer will have access to their email address, and likewise once the employer replies to that initial email, the job seeker will have the email for them as well.

Again regarding communication, the only option currently available in the theme is as mentioned above, so having other methods to contact each other would require modification of the default theme on your part. Thanks.
