A few preliminary questions about Job Roller

Hi, how are you? Thanks in advance for taking a few moments to answer my questions.

    1) I saw in another post someone asked if there was the ability to censor or hide names/contact information on resumes. The answer was yes, but the provided link didn't work. Is this something I can do? Can I make it so that only people with registered accounts can view information on resumes? How would this work?

    2) We would like to make ONLY a resume board, no job board. Is there a way to turn off the job board portion of the theme? Or if we just hid the job board buttons and only kept the resume buttons, would this also work?

    3) When someone contacts someone about his resume, is it automatically sent to his email? Or is there some email relay?

    4) For registration to search through resumes, we'd like to make sure that people registering are valid companies, not just individuals. Is this possible? Maybe with company emails?

    Thank you so much!

Good thank you :) In answer to your questions:

    1) You can restrict overall viewing of the resume page and resumes to paid users or members, however there is no specific setting within the theme to restrict contact information only to specific groups.

    2) The job board is the primary function so there is no setting to turn it off (although you can disable resumes by disabling the job seeker user type). It would require customization on your part if you were looking to change this to suit.

    3) The application is sent directly to the employer but you can also opt for admin to be bcc'd.

    4) There is no function built into the theme to restrict registration emails, so this also would require customization. Our themes are not encrypted, so you are essentially free to modify them as you wish. Thanks.

Thank you very much for the quick reply!

    1) Is there a way to let people know there are X number of resumes available to view? What I want to avoid is someone paying the fee and then there are only 10 resumes for him to look at.
Also, can we charge a 1x fee? Or can we do monthly subscriptions? How does the payment work?

    2) Can you elaborate on disabling resumes by disabling the jobs seeker user type? Also, what if we simply removed all links and buttons for the job board, and only left the links/buttons for browsing resumes?

    4) If not restricting registration emails, what about manual email approval?

Also, do you know of any sites that incorporate these job boards already, I'd like to see an example of them in action, other than the demo. We plan to use them on a non WordPress based website, which is why I ask all these questions.

    thanks again!!

    1) There is no specific feature for this, as if you restrict the resumes to paying customers they are immediately locked off before they see the resume screen. You would need to carry out customization work to change this. The resume plans allow you to set a price for a certain number of days, you can view the settings in the Jobroller admin dashboard here.

    2) Basically if you choose to not allow job seeker registrations, then all the options associated with that type of login would not be available which includes resume adding and viewing. It would require customization on your part if you wanted to retain the feature whilst disabling the actual registration type.

    3) The theme uses the native WordPress user functionality, and there are no such restrictions by default. Again, this would involve customization or potentially use of a plugin, although we don't officially support these.

You can find live JobRoller sites in the AppThemes customer dashboard here. Thanks.
