Buddypress is a totally different concept. Buddypress is for community sites where people can create groups and such (which is definitely not required for successfully offering classified ads). For all the extra community functions buddypress requires extra theme files. You don't need buddypress if you want to add a forum to your site. There are other plugins such as
simple-press forum which easily integrate with any wordpress theme including classipress. Classipress is offering social features like the twitter- and facebook widget as well as social bookmark options. So you can easily promote your classified ads site on twitter and facebook or users can recommend ads on the major social platforms.
