Have a web-host in mind but no website as yet

Hello Support,

I have no website as yet and therefore (although I don't want a blog) could I run the Classipress application on Wordpress.com? Or, if not, do I need to (register a domain name and) have a web -hosting service in place before I buy a Classipress package?

And, if so, as an almost complete hi-tech novice - will I be able to set-up/install the Classipress application myself?

Yes, you need to register a domain and a hosting service. Classipress is a wordress theme and most of the hosting providers already feature a one click installation of wordpress. If you can follow instructions then classipress installation is just a breeze and also you can find a lot of help on this forum for a hi-tech novice like you.

A few last questions please:

If I purchase the "personal" ClassiPress application:

1. Can you tell me what minimum (or preferable) amount of disk-space I will need to run it efficiently?
2. Is it possible to place my "company name/image/logo" in the heading?
3. Can I change (and add to) the "category headings," and the order of the categories?
4. How many ads can be placed at any given moment* (*i.e., is there a limit)?
5. Can I upgrade to the Small Business Edition, if necessary at any time, and will I be charged the "difference in price between the two?" Or would I need to pay a further (and additional) $99.00?

1. You may start with the basic service a webhost can offer and just upgrade later when you already have volume of ad postings and traffic.
2. Yes you can change the logo with yours.
3. Yes you can change category headings while the category order can be set up either based on alphabetical order or the time it is created. And so with that you can just try ordering the categories during creation. There are available wordpress plugins that can order categories but I have not tried one of them yet with Classipress.
4. There's no limit for the users to place an ad yet . However, you can have the ad placement for free or for a fee.
5. Yes you can upgrade anytime. I still have to check the pricing though.

Now I know precisely what to do at this stage, thanks to you. I intend registering a domain name, subscribing to a webhosting service and buying the ClassiPress Personal package thereafter.

And needless to say I'm looking forward very much to "getting started" and being the proud owner of this (outstanding) software!
