    Hi,

Considering Classipress for a couple of my clients, but can we ask:

1 - You can create Custom Fields, but can you select if these fields (individually) are shown in a search result to help refine a users search?
2 - I can see in Settings > Search Settings > Search Custom Fields [ ] Tick Box, but this searches all, and does not appear to offer individual control of which fields are searchable (or not).

The reason we ask about Q1 and Q2 is that we are also considering the Classi-Alerts plugin from Themebound, but want control over which search attributes can be saved in a search alert. Hope you understand. We would prefer the Vantage theme, but their plugin is only available for Classipress at present and not suitable for Vantage... :-(

Many thanks - we look forward to your reply.

    1. You determine which search fields are used in the "refine results" sidebar based on the available custom fields.
    2. As per the ClassiPress demo site, the visible search options are based on what you set in the advanced search form layout as shown here.

You may like to discuss your requirements with the plugin developer also, to ensure it functions with the theme as you intend it to. Thanks.
