    how do payments work?

How do the payments work for vantage? Meaning if the client signs up for a 30 day ad, how does the transaction take place? when the 30 days is up what happens? is it easy for the client to renew? will they be notified to renew? do they have to re-enter their credit card data? can they pay for longer terms at a time? can you set up auto pay thru paypal since your website doesn't provide the autopay feature? I really want this product, but I need to know I will be able to collect the money! thanks!

The default payment gateway built into Vantage is PayPal. When a customer selects a paid plan, they are redirected to PayPal at the end of the listing process where they complete the transaction and are returned to the site once that is done. When the listing has expired the customer will receive an email to give them the option to relist. They would click the link contained in the email and follow the steps to complete their transaction again. If you want users to pay for longer terms then you simply need to create a plan which runs for a longer duration. Vantage does not currently have auto recurring payments, so this would require customization on your part if you were looking to implement this. You may also wish to note that there are other payment gateway plugins available in the AppThemes marketplace if you wish to allow more than PayPal. Thanks.

    paypal recurring payments

since paypal offers recurring payments, would this not be a solution? so once the client gets an email to renew, couldn't they just set up a recurring payment thru paypal? or am i missing something? thanks!

If the customer clicks the link contained in an expiry email and carries out the transaction, then they can renew the listing manually that way, but as mentioned, the theme itself is not set up to accept automatically recurring payments (even though PayPal has this option). Thanks.
