I'm looking to buy Vantage for a directory that will have City and State listings. Does it come prepopulated with the cities and regions? Or how does one go about easing the population of the localities?

The theme does not come pre-populated with locations because these are not selected from a dropdown when placing a listing, the user has to find the location on the map as you can see from the Vantage demo site. You also set your Google maps region from within the Vantage admin dashboard. Thanks.

Instead of relying on the form for that demo, could we create a custom field with a dropdown for all the states? and then once the user selects a state, they select a city that we have inputted on the backend?

For my directory, I don't need a specific address but just a state and city.

Technically yes, you could create a custom form and just add the States, however the select list/dropdown box wouldn't be connected to Google Maps to display it on the listing sidebar, you'd have to make some customizations to the theme itself if you wanted it to work that way. You'd also need to modify the default theme files in order to remove the map itself from the listing form as that is there by default even with a custom form. Thanks.
