Question about varying theme

Hello - I see from the demo for the Classipress theme that the "what are you looking for" search box is at the top of the page followed by the "Featured Listing" panel below that. I would like to add some introductory description about the site at the top (that is, under the WP site name and short site description/kicker). Is there a way to insert that type of descriptive content (let's say a couple of sentences) above the search box?

Also, I am contemplating having a different child theme accessible through the main site page depending on the type of person searching (for example, by gender, age, place of residence, etc.). Does the theme allow you to install a WP plug-in or vary the "what are you looking for" search box to allow that kind of search functionality at the top of the parent page?

Yes, what you describe can be done with some customization of the code. The theme is not encrypted so you are free to modify it to suit your needs. I don't believe you'll find plugins to achieve what you want, it would most certainly need to be hard coded.
