Theme Release Status

I don't see the point of having the Theme Release Status page if it not being updated regularly. This is an excellent idea but it simply needs to be updated on a more regular basis.

It's currently only being updated approximately twice a month and this is very frustrating for those of us to check in on a daily basis.

I would suggest that this is updated daily. EVEN if there has been no measurable work completed then if we at least see that the updated date is recent, we'll know the level of progress that has been made.

The thing is, the last update was 12 days ago and we are all completely clueless as to what development progress has actually been made.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this. If David himself would like to chime in, that would be great.

I realise it hasn't been updated since the 3rd, and agree it should be updated on a more regular basis. I will discuss this with our team and try and get some feedback about this, and to get it updated again.

With regards to comments about it being updated daily though, I don't think that's realistic in all honesty. The page is there to give people an indication of progress, and estimated dates. It's not exact, and checking it daily wouldn't achieve anything other than have people then be annoyed if they happen to notice no change between 2 days or something like that..

Like I said though, I'm sure we can find a better way of making more regular updates to save you checking back daily to see if it has happened so we'll try and sort something out here. Thanks.

The lack of developer presence in the forums is quite frustrating as we have no idea what's going on with 3.1. Do things look like they are still on track for a December release or are there any specific issues holding up finishing it? Is CP 3.1 being developed to ensure compatibility with the soon to be released Wordpress 3.1? We have no way of knowing this as there is zero information being given to us. Pepsi and other admins are very helpful but don't seem to get any official word to us on our concerns/questions regarding CP 3.1 status/progress.

Going by the releases page, testing has not even started so I imagine we can again expect 3.1 to slip to next year - Jan/Feb. Please give us a heads up either way.

As I mentioned in another thread, as far as I am aware at this point in time, the team are still on track for the release (at least, I haven't heard otherwise). My next meeting with the development team is tomorrow so I will see what I can find out and will be sure to update on this. I know people occassionally makes comments here and there about the development team not being visible in the forums, but in the same token, you all want the releases out as soon as possible. If they were here to respond to every thread directed at them, this would in turn take away from their focus on actually getting the work done.. so if I'm here giving you a response, you can consider it straight from the horses mouth, so to speak ;)
