Turn off reviews

The niche businessess I want to list using Vantage would prefer not being reviewed. I really like the look and feel of the Vantage theme, but the only thing that is stopping me purchasing it is the inability to turn off visitor or user reviews.

Can a 'Reviews on/off' siwtch be added to the next theme update?

The AppThemes Dev Team has yet to announce the set of features that will be included in the next version release as they are still currently doing some internal testings. We will update this thread once it is announced.

However, if you are comfortable with codes, the said feature can be fairly removed with just few lines of codes.

Any update on Turning Off Reviews please?

Just wondered if this was included in any recent updates.

Can the reviews be easily turned off?

Or, is it stall the case that we need a programmer
to go in and make the adjustment.

If a programmer changes the code and we later
update the theme what will happen regarding
the change the programmer made?

Hi Leo, no there is still no option to turn off the reviews function from within the Vantage admin dashboard (and no immediate plans for it at this time), so yes this would require customization on your part if you were looking to remove it.

Our recommendation for any changes to the default theme would be to create a child theme, which is going to save you from losing all of your changes in the process of an upgrade. If the changes are not made this way then yes you would expect to lose all the changes as soon as the theme is updated. Thanks.
