The events functionality is set up as its own custom post type, so technically they are not linked to a specific listing, however there is no setting in the Vantage admin dashboard to deactivate the listings functionality as such. You can remove the button to add a business listing to stop people creating listings, but you'd need to make some modifications to the default theme layout to completely remove the "Business Listings" header and space occupied by it.
