Ad Relist Question

Sometimes I give out coupon codes for a free ad.
I have it set so that ads will be able to relist because I don't want my customers to have to retype their ad every month just to relist.
But one thing I noticed is that when a coupon code has reached it's expiry date, the customer is still able to relist the ad for free. Shouldn't they be prompted to pay once the coupon has expired. This way I can give out a freebie coupon that's good for a year and they can relist over and over again in that year but start paying after the year is up.

I have version 3.0.5.3 Business. Maybe it's different in the most recent version.
