When I set up the Avatar (Settings->Discussion->Avatars) as Blank Man it shows the Gravatar Avatar. It appears if I have a Gravatar avatar associated with the email, it is overriding the blankman avatar.
When I choose use Gravatar avatar in the settings it works as it should.
