Can WPMS Network member post for free on any Apptheme network site?

I need to confirm whether or not a network member is automatically a member of every site on the network for the purpose of Appthemes ability to restrict free posting to members only. I would like to allow one membership to grant access to ClassiPress, Vantage, Jobroller, etc...

Here are two scenarios:
A. Member joins through Membership plugin.
B. Member joins through one of the sites in the network, ClassiPress, Vantage, Jobroller.

My question is; considering the above is would the member be a member for every site on the network. So, is a member joining on one site considered a member when they visit a different site on the network? And if that site is set to offers free listings for members – would this mean they can post free listings, even if they joined though a different network site or a membership plugin.

By the way I have been told: "When a member registers they don't specifically get an account on each website, but they do get a pseudo subscriber access so they should be able to comment on other blogs in the network and be seen as a subscriber.So they would be logged in for all as a subscriber role."

So I guess the question is would that "pseudo subscriber access" count as a member for the purpose of allowing free access to members or do they need to join each site individually?
