Categories redirecting to user dashboard

I'm setting up a series of sites and having a weird problem.

If I use "Directory Style" - the clickable categories in the categories widget below the slider re-direct to the user dashboard.

This is a brand new installation with no customizations, apart from categories, and no active plug-ins.

Any ideas what's happenning? I'm using Version: 3.5.7
