Changing the Ad Permalink Structure
I have asked this question in another thread, but I didn't quite get the answer I was after...
The blog post
ClassiPress 3.0.5.3 is Now Available says:
Sub-Category Hierarchy Structure
Another short-coming (which will be fixed in WordPress 3.1 due out early Jan 2011) is sub-category hierarchy for custom taxonomies. Right now all custom taxonomy categories are flat unlike ClassiPress v3.0.4 or earlier.
Here’s an example of a sub-sub-category structure in ClassiPress 3.0.4:
*
yoursite.com/category/sub-category/sub-sub-category/your-ad-name/
Now with custom taxonomies in WordPress 3.0 and ClassiPress 3.0.5, here’s what it’ll look like:
*
yoursite.com/ad-category/sub-sub-category/your-ad-name/
So how exactly is this "
ad-category/sub-sub-category" structure activated? I have Wordpress 3.1.2 and ClassiPress 3.0.5.4 but there doesn't seem to be options for achieving this.
Pepsi answered in another thread:
The structure you mention is the default for version 3.0.5.x, and the only thing you can change about the structure from within the ClassiPress admin is the located under the "Custom Post Type & Taxonomy URLs" section which you have already located i.e. "Ad listing base URL"... So instead of "Ads", you could change it to e.g. "Listings" so it would then appear as "yoursite.com/listings/your-ad-name"
And that information is correct, but the blog post clearly states more eloborate permalink structures can be implemented.
So could somebody please tell me how it's done?
