Child Theme Tutorial Orange Button css Problem

Hi!

I followed Seth Carstens very helpful tutorials regarding clild themes. My problem is a minor one but I don't know how to correct it. The 'orange buttons' on the Welcome panel show up simply as plain text instead of buttons. Once you log-in, the buttons come back. I know that this is a css link issue but don't get it. Everything else in the tutorial went as expected (taht's no bad!). I noticed a reference to someone else who had this problem in the second tutorial but the question wasn't really answered.

I have made only very minor changes to the main and red style pages before reading the tutorials. All are strictly related to text and BG colors with the exception of one spacing change from 15 to 5px to accomodate graphical arrows that I am using. NO button or substantiave changes that should affect this have been made. The site is 73.biz.
