Classipress 3.2 Can not change images, backgrounds or styles!

I downloaded Classipress 3.2 due to the errors and updates to my current installation of 3.1.5.
I see that the new theme uses an images folder with all the usual images needed for the background, header, buttons etc. really no different that CP3.1.5

Now, the odd part...
No matter what I do to these images, all I get on the live version is the basic Classipress look!
I've even gone so far as to delete the images folder and uploaded the images folder I had for 3.1.5... and they still remain the same! Where are these images being stored?
Also, I went into the Style sheets (in my case Green + Black) and changed the name of the image it is supposed to dispaly... and it still displays the same basic thing?
example:
topheader_bg.gif was changed to topheader_bg2.gif

It almost seems like the new theme is not customizable other than the few color layouts given.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreaciated!
