Cron job runs and sends emails every minute

The cron job runs and emails every minute - despite the fact that it is set to run twice daily only - filling up the email box.

Currently there are at least three threads regadring the referenced matter (links to said threads are reported below). I posted in a couple of them but there was no reply. Hence, I decided to start this new thread and to include in it the previous – unresolved – ones.

Clearly, this is a MAJOR problem for several users.

A solution to this problem is overdue and greatly appreciated.
