Custom.css from 3.0.4 not working with 3.0.5

I had a custom.css file that worked great under 3.0.4, but when I installed 3.0.5 some of the stuff did not change like it should.

Mainly the header, navbar, search block and footer. I have looked, looked and looked somemore. Changed what should have reset the backgrounds.

Also, the code is not consistant and maybe thats why I am having problems. For example, in the style sheet that came with 3.0.5 some lines of code for images have the image url in quotes, but others do not. My header, navbar and footer in 3.0.4 used background images instead of color. Thats what I want to get working.

The second screenshot is of what it looked like before I installed 3.0.5. Disregard the border in the second screenshot. I am just using an older screenshot for an example.
