Custom Fields

I have tested version 3.1.4 and have found that it is not creating custom fields. This was done on a clean install with the latest version of Word Press and when installed the form does not appear while trying to add a record such as an ad and I know without the custom fields then the form to add items such as placing an ad will not appear. Is there a script that you could provide that would populate the custom fields.
