Disabling SelectBox JS library causes css problems for <select> elements

If you choose to not use the SelectBox JS library in Classipress > Settings > Advanced you are stuck with CSS rules that override the browser default rendering for select elements. These rules (specifically the border: rule) cannot be reset and the only option to get the browser default back is to edit the core Classipress style.css file, which is not desirable.
