How to fix the missing "http://" issue, so links still work?
I created a custom field called "URL", in which people can include a link.
When I type in a link that includes the http:// at the beginning, the link works fine.
If I type in a link that doesn't include the http:// at the beginning the link is no longer a link and doesn't link to anything.
There were issues related to this back in 2.9 line.
How can this be remedied in 3.04?
On my 2.9 line site, people often forget to include the http:// even tho I clearly request them to do so right next to the URL field in the posting form. Then I go in each day and fix a few ads that have the broken links. I'm expecting to be getting hundreds of ads daily on a new site, and would rather not check and fix links for so many ads.
Also, it would be good if links typed into the main "description" field are automatically made functional.
What files can I edit, and what can I do so that links without the http:// still work, and so that links entered in the main "Description" field also work?
Btw, if it matters I am keeping the "allow html" setting set to "No" on my site.
Thanks in advancement.
