Importing data - problem with new category structure

In previous versions of Classipress we've used a wordpress plugin called Easy CSV import to add listings from our csv files in to appropriate categories. Due to the new taxonomy of Classipress/wordpress this is no longer possible to do as the only categories that display in the import process are the 'main' categories rather than specific categories appearing under 'ads'.

Does anyone have a way round this or a different solution on how csv listings data can be imported using the new taxonomy?

It's quite a big problem for us and prevents us upgrading because when we launch a new directory site, we like to import a number of listings to give the site some content from scratch.
