Permalink issues

Hi there,

I'm using the latest classipress from a clean install.

Just inatlled and it wont find any of my pages.

Is it because i have classipress installed in a sub-folder on my domain?

my domain is http://www.housesitting.ie

and my classipress / wordpress is installed at http://www.housesitting.ie/main

how can i make this work? using /%postname%/ does not work and using /main/%postname%/ does not work either

classipress tells me that my .htaccess is not writable, i can see no .htaccess in my housesitting.ie/main directory but there is one in my server root, i try to make it CHMOD777 but filezilla keeps saying not allowed
