Subcategory displays 404 page missing!!??

Hi

Ive set up a site using the Classipress theme. I only use main categories with NO sub categories. When you are logged in as an Admin and click POST AN Ad I have it set to FREE and you get a drop down for the main categories (no problem). I make a selection on the drop down and a spinning icon appears then the Orange Go button appears (no problems) the form works fine all the way through.

However

If Im logged in as a user. I click POST AN AD, its set to FREE and the drop down for main categories is there. When I make a selection on the drop down I get the spinning icon and then a 404 page cant be found appears under the initial drop down menu. Below this is the Orange Go button.

Any idea why this is happening?
