Upgrading from 3.0.5 to 3.1.9, how?

Hi i have classipress 3.0.5 and i would like to upgrade to the new 3.1.9. How do i do this?
I have downloaded 3.1.9, but when i got to: appearance..themes...install theme..and then try to upload the file that i downloaded, it comes up with the following message:

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

    Destination folder already exists.

    Theme install failed.

Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?........(starting to tear my hair out a little bit! )

    Thankyou
