WANTED Quick Plugin Guide for Newbies

Hi can any of the guys and girls running sucessfull Classipress websites please give info on which plugins ect that they would recommend to new comers to be essential to get up and running. I have had a hard time and am continuing to have a hard time reaching my target audience and blocking spammers so any SEO plugins and Spam plugins would be great, this forum has been a massive help but sometimes there are too many random recommendations.
