    Unable to change sending email address. does not send new email validation

    I am trying to change the sending email address because its using my name. I want to use generic email address.
    Here is what happens, is this a bug if not how to solve this ?

    https://mydomain.com/wp-admin/options-general.php

    output:

    Email myname@mydomain.com

    This address is used for admin purposes. If you change this we will send you an email at your new address to confirm it. The new address will not become active until confirmed.

    There is a pending change of the admin email to contact@mydomain.com. Cancel

    Actual Result: no email received. how to solve this then ?
