Unable to create directory - file upload error permissions

Hi There,

I cannot upload images to my Jobroller theme from the admin panel dashboard area. This is in order to put the image on a static page. I get the following error:

Unable to create directory /var/www/vhosts/sapjob.co/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/2011/10. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I thought it may be permissions - I loaded the theme via FTP and activated it. The FTP directory permissions for wp-content/uploads/2011/ and all recursive sub directories are: 755.

I dont want to change permissions. - Any idea how to fix this. I have not used the site since May, therefore the last folder created was /var/www/vhosts/sapjob.co/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/2011/05.

I am using v1.5 - site www.sapjob.co
