CSV Import listing Issue

HI

Is there a document somewhere which kind of explains about CSV import? I am having so many problems in importing have done a few times but can not see even one listing on my screen although in my "Listing" screen I see "All 3525" (i tried to do import a few times) and every time I import this number goes up but I cannot find any listing anywhere. Please help.

I see a lot of threads some saying no blank fields some say date format issues but there is no decent document which can help and we don't have to keep on searching for forum and wait for replies.
